Oakland, CA Adopts 2030 Equitable Climate Action Plan

In July 2020, Oakland City Council unanimously adopted the 2030 Equitable Climate Action Plan (ECAP). By centering equity and environmental justice, ECAP aims to achieve carbon neutrality in Oakland by 2045 through profound transformation of the city's building, transportation, and waste sectors. Among the plan's impressive 40 Actions are commitments to establish a deconstruction requirement, as well as a community reuse and repair program.
